Is it snowing where you are? Here in the mountains of Colorado, our moods go with the snowfall, and until very recently, we were grumpy. Two days before Christmas, the climate remembered the season, and it started snowing. It hasn’t stopped since. My family and I have been playing in the snow every day: snowmen, Nordic skiing, alpine skiing, hot chocolate.
What you’re here for, the prediction
Nothing—not competition, capitalism, preferences for video, journalistic objectivity, unfair power imbalances, global pandemic, celebrity, technology, or Joe Rogan will change our human desire to listen to great stories that entertain us, move us, educate us and challenge us.
That’s it! That’s the prediction. Keep making audio and distribute it however you can. Even if your distribution is limited to friends within earshot, your story could be better than those on any top 10 list ever curated.
Thank you

ps. Last Chance! Right now, today, please support your fellow BIPOC, Queer and Trans podcasters who are making great audio. Here’s the link: https://www.podcastingseriously.com/fund. Just donate, and follow Juleyka Lantigua Williams on Twitter to stay up to date with the fund.
Some background:
LWC Studios launched the The Podcasting, Seriously Awards Fund to support independent BIPOC, Queer and Trans audio producers in submitting their work to media/journalism awards.
Basically they pay the submission fees (which, before I started Timber, I didn’t even imagine that you would have to pay to win an award, but that’s another story) for these indie podcasters.
